"Getting to the Heart of Heart Disease"

10/14/08

“Getting to the Heart of Heart Disease” is the first talk in the “Current Health” lecture series. It will be held on Tuesday October 14, 2008 at 6:30 pm at Pinnacle Hospital. This is a free educational seminar and is open to the public.

Heart disease is the number one health problem among both men and women in the United States. Coronary artery disease (also called narrowing of the arteries) is by far the most common form of heart disease. Coronary artery disease can cause chest pain (angina) and heart attacks (myocardial infarction.) “Getting to the Heart of Heart Disease” will cover the basics of coronary artery disease. Vijay Dave, M.D. and Divyesh Patel, M.D. are the presenters and will talk about the important factors concerning this type of heart disease:

• Who is at risk?
• What are the symptoms?
• What tests are done to make a diagnosis?
• What is the role of heart scans?
• What are the treatments?
• Can it be prevented?

You will see first hand some of the diagnostic equipment, test results and scans used to help diagnose and determine severity of disease.  And while you are there for the seminar, make sure you ask a Pinnacle physician or staff member for a tour of this state-of-the-art facility.

If you are interested in learning more about coronary artery disease, plan on attending this free lecture. Seating is limited, so make a reservation by calling
