"Laparoscopic Hernia Repair. . . At Last!" Nov. 11

11/10/08

Pinnacle Hospital announced that it will host the second talk in their monthly “Current Health” lecture series. “Laparoscopic Hernia Repair. . . At Last!” will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at 6:30 pm at Pinnacle Hospital. Dr. Arsenio Favor will be the speaker for this free seminar which is open to the public.

There are approximately 600,000 hernia repair operations performed in the United States annually. While many are performed using the conventional “open” surgical method, many are now being performed using the relatively new, minimally invasive laparoscopic surgical procedure.

At “Laparoscopic Hernia Repair. . . At Last!”, attendees will learn from Arsenio Favor, MD, about the different types of hernias and their causes. Attendees will also learn about treatment options including the two types of surgical repairs.  Discover how these new, minimally invasive procedures can result in shorter operative time, create less pain, and provide a shorter recovery period for certain types of hernias.

And while you are there for the seminar, make sure you ask a Pinnacle physician or staff member for a tour of this state-of-the-art facility.

If you are interested in learning more about laparoscopic hernia repair, plan on attending this free lecture. Seating is limited, so make a reservation by calling 219-796-4130. Pinnacle Hospital is located on 93rd, just east of Broadway in Crown Point/Merrillville.
