Pinnacle Hospital Sponsors Blood Drive

Crown Point, IN - November 19, 2008 - Pinnacle Hospital sponsored an employee blood drive on November 19. The American Red Cross blood-mobile was set-up in the Pinnacle Hospital parking lot to take blood donations. In total, enough blood was collected to help save 32 lives.

According to American Red Cross statistics, someone in the United States needs blood every 2 seconds. But only 5% of the eligible US population donates blood in any given year. Healthy donors are the only source of blood. Pinnacle Hospital employees were glad to do their part in helping to save lives.

Pictured here is Wendy Smith, just one of the Pinnacle employees who donated blood.  She is being assisted by two American Red Cross staff members.  When you get the chance, give a donation of blood. . . it’s a donation that doesn’t cost you a thing!
